How many Blair/Poolesville magnet kids wind up taking the full ride at College Park because they couldn’t pay for Stanford or MIT?

It’s comparing apples and oranges, and tells you nothing about the actual merits of the students or the schools.

This. Blair grad here. Everyone I know in my class got into at least 1 top 20 university. Like everyone. But hardly any of us were rich. We went where the money/scholarship was. For most of us, that was UMD. It absolutely did not hurt us. We ended up in med school, law schools and grad schools in high numbers.

Ask on May 1 when students have to make their decisions. Many of them won't hear from their top choices for two months!

The system already encourages racism, if anything I think that poster is mocking the current status quo

Definitely a few if the W school is Wheaton! But, I only know that from kids telling friends. A lot of public school kids aren't posting yet. Not everyone posts on IG, and the schools I know did start these until April in previous years, so even if they have it up now, it may not be on kids' radar. And, some are waiting on RD. It's all good, people.

Wheaton is so far from a W school it isn’t funny.

Oh stop it. It literally starts with a W

Yup. And, has fantastic students, programs and college results. So, what's PP's beef? I guess they can't take a little friendly ribbing.

np.. you are not understanding the moniker.

The W schools mean "wealthy and white (Asian" schools.
