Exactly. Colors can be so powerful and elegant, it really isn't about neutrals vs colors. It's about shapes and textures.

I also think the more weight you look like you have, the more groomed and fitted and no sloppy you need to look. Overweight women always need to look groomed and polished and “done” to look well off. Thin women can pull off jeans and a baggy sweatshirt and still look well off.

This doesn’t apply to men.

Good clear, radiant skin with very minimal makeup.

Groomed - subtly shaped brows, well kept hair, clean shiny nails, etc.

Well fitting, fresh clothes, no piling and no tired looking material.


So far I have 1 and am working on the rest.

Sure but that's not where OP is now - now she's already married, but expecting her husband to start earning a lot more, and it sounds like she wants to dress as if she's the woman that a guy with that kind of money would marry the first time.

Maybe I'm reading her wrong, but that's my take.

Or maybe she is totally secure in her relationship but wants to dress like the rich wives she expects to be hanging around - she's dressing for rich women instead of rich men. I think that might be a different strategy?

The Queen wore vivid colors to be seen and stand out in a crowd when doing public engagements. When you see pics of her in a relaxed setting, she was wearing much more neutral, soft colors.

I'm wealthy and have the look. The secret is to:
1. BE THIN
2. Pair very expensive things with cheap things - i.e. my $400 shoes with a well fitted dress from Target I got for sale $15 and tailored.
3. Subtle REAL jewelry, e.g., diamond studs- never cz
4. Always dress for your figure. Never wear 'sweat pants'. Aviator Nation make folks look like they're wearing a giant diaper, so I don't get why people would pay money to look that way

But mostly be thin and fit!


This is dumb advice. Absolutely no one can tell if your earrings are CZ. I have CZ set in real gold (sensitive skin) and they are cheap and look great. For a ring you can argue for diamonds for durability but for earrings no one can tell.
