Was just about to say this about Manhattan. We used to live in NY about 10 years back. Spent a few days there this past summer and it smelled like sewage and weed everywhere we went. Judging by the ginormous rats, I’m guessing they have the munchies even more these days.

It really is everywhere. I work in Baltimore, and the smell is overwhelming as soon as I get off the highway and stop at a traffic light. And this happens every single time I drive into the city. My husband told me that I must be confusing the smell of a city with the smell of pot, but during two recent trips with my adult children, they agreed. It's inescapable, even in pretty open spaces.

And then there is the smell on people's clothing. Indoors, at events like concerts or theater events, the smell follows them and is hard to avoid.

I hate the smell of weed, so I asked my friend why he doesn’t just buy edibles. He said it was a matter of controlling his high. Something about being able to stop smoking once he reached his desired buzz but gummies being all or nothing.

You either have a second hand high, or are in denial. I live in CA, was just in Olney 3 weeks ago visiting my mom. I was shocked at the ever present stench in the air. It's just as bad as CA now.

I mostly drive up and down Wisconsin and Old G, from DC to Bethesda to Rockville.

Weed smell is really interesting. It's more pungent than cigarette smoke (which I know well, both my parents are inveterate smokers of cigarettes), and spreads in patches, I feel.

However, since it's just as dangerous as alcohol or cigarettes (not less, but I think people don't realize that), in all fairness, I think we should ban them all, or allow them all. And right now, for adults, we're allowing them all. Too bad for those of us with sensitive noses!

DC smells like weed. I got stuck on a corner waiting for the light to change just yesterday with a man who was openly taking hits off a joint. Reeked. And we were on the corner by the local elementary school. I can’t walk around with an open container, why can people openly smoke weed on the corner?

This. I like all this sneering about Maryland, when just a few days ago, my dad and I drove to visit my brother in Old Town. We were at a stoplight on N Patrick Street, when my dad sniffed the air and chuckled. “I haven’t smelled pot so strongly since college,” he said. Through a car window at a stop light in Old Town, at 10 a.m. on Christmas Eve. So let’s not act like it’s only Maryland, folks.
