I decided to do just the tummy tuck. Breast implants have to be replaced every once in a while, and I'm not sure I'll be up for elective surgery at 50 or 60.
Plus, as one poster mentioned, a tummy really ruins a lot of outfits. I'm not a snazzy dresser, but it's hard to find clothes that fit my waist and still fit my "mother's apron." Man, I have so much more sympathy for all those people on the makeover shows. I used to think they were nutty, but living with these small annoyances every day really adds up. Saying this as a special needs mom myself--it's not the big stuff, but the everyday little meltdowns and needs that wear you down.
Dreading the recovery, though, as I heard the TT is brutal.
Thanks agian for all your fascinating posts!!!!!
I agree with going with a TT that said I want to share my experience with getting implants. I got them 25 years ago, when my DD was 1 yr old. My breasts looked like they were from a National Geographic centerfold. Awful. Anyhow I got/have silicone + lift. I have not had to replace them, they are intact. This idea that you have to replace them eventually is not accurate across the board. Good luck with your surgery!
