Then the neighbor boy had his car parked across the street kind of even with the yard man's truck. A neighbor lady came banging on our door saying we were rude to park in the street like that because she couldn't get to her house. Now mind you she knows who we are because we've been here as long as she's been here. Well over a decade. Our one vehicle is in our driveway. We never parked on the street. My husband went outside and told her it was next door and across the street blocking her way. She was rather haughty in her attitude. I wonder if she is racist because the first home she went to was ours. We're white and the other neighbors are black. She never apologized. That's okay. At least we know what she is. Her husband is THE nicest man. Poor thing has a nasty attitude wife.

Not true. It's because they come from cultures who don't respect customs, social norms or common courtesies.

It comes up because it is basic etiquette to park in front of your own house. Not a law, but etiquette.
Literally no. You ATA in this situation.

I know it's a public street and I would tell them to move it if I needed the space but it's not encroaching yet but I know it's encroaching on our next door neighbors space. He's older and parking aways away from his house. It's just rude. Our street is narrow and with four cars space is limited. Since the street is narrow there should be more etiquette to park in their driveway or garage.
You'd tell them to move out of a legal parking spot on a public street because you want to park there? Because they are "encroaching?"
OK.
If the front of their house is car less and they're parking for weeks on end in front of my house yes I would tell them to stop and make it known they're being rude because I take care of a senior parent who needs that space. They are encroaching with their rude etiquette.
