Me too. I see a primary in the Chevy Chase location. I’ve only seen her for annual physicals but she’s always taken her time with me. I ended up there because the previous practice I was with closed. At the time most of the good internists were not accepting new patients and I was fine with the relatively small annual fee.

Sue Kanter in Bethesda is awesome. She’s concierge and I have no idea what she charges these days. She was my doctor years ago but I had to stop seeing her because I couldn’t afford the concierge model.

Not OP, but being told there was a 6 month wait to see my primary care doc at VHC Primary Care (McLean office) for an annual physical, and never being able to see her with less notice than that (anything acute you see the NP) is part of what drove me to concierge.

I'm the PP at 18:31. Look at Eileen West in NOVA. She is one of the Washingtonian's Top Docs. Annual cost to join her practice is just under 3k. If you are interested contact them now -- she will likely have a waitlist soon (like most of the good concierge docs in this area). You will have a call with her office manager who will explain the practice to you, costs, what you get, etc. Then a meet and greet with the doctor to see if it is a fit.

Nope ... $250 is not "quite a bit above $3000." Not for concierge fees. But if you think it is, you don't really have a place in the conversation when it comes to concierge medicine.

Unfortunately at this point Amazon probably knows more about me than my doctor does anyway, so I wouldn't let that get in my way necessarily.

You can be "opposed" all you want ( I assume you mean morally), but assuming you can afford it you don't really have a choice given what you're looking for. We switched to concierge 8 years ago, I get an hour of my doctor's time each time I see her. I'm no longer in the area so cannot make recommendations.

I originally thought concierge was a rip off but now that I go, I love it. I have some medical issues plus I always get a few awful cold from the kids that become sinus infections. Urgent care almost always gets it wrong.

One Medical is the cheapest probably and not full concierge but definitely worth it. You often see a PA but if you want a dr as your primary, just ask when a new dr is joining and sign up.

I'd be surprised if there are any hidden gem insurance panel internists in this market. Maybe family medicine.

I also liked Serennah Harding! I just switched to her from another doc who was so-so. Dr. Harding is good -- takes her time, thinks holistically and preventatively, and I guess she is a Doggie Howser type (graduated med school at 22). I also think DOs are better at primary care because they are trained to think more holistically about the body.
