Before about 7:30 one of us is usually prepping dinner (even split) while the other is shuttling kids, or working late, or walking dog, or exercising. We all eat together as a family then DH cleans the kitchen and most often parks self on couch with kids (teens) to watch sports or a show they all enjoy, sometimes is on his computer or iPad. I either join them or take a bath, or sometimes exercise or meet up with friends or get back on my work computer. By 10 we’re usually heading up to bed together and will read for a bit. DH is weirdly a weekend-sex only person which I don’t get but at this point just accept.

When kids were younger we’d hang out together more - watching a show we both enjoyed, playing board games with kids. DH isn’t a big talker though and there’s only so much football I can handle so I’ve been finding other ways to fill my time in the evenings.

I dress up like Wonder Woman, he dresses up like Superman and we swing from the rafters.

We also just deal w (young) kids then don’t spend any time together after that. We also can’t really stand each other tho.

We workout together at lunch time- different gyms or classes/-and any sex will be when we have the house alone during work day.

It’s the easiest it’s been in a long time with us both WAH, one driving- sophomore and senior.

Oh my kids have never needed homework help—since early elementary school. They get home around 3pm and do it before dinner/practices.

I get home at 4pm, with the kids.

From 4-7:30 I do chores, homework with kids, and cook.

DH gets home at 7:30. He eats then and I sit with him. We usually shower, then have tea and everyone will watch TV. He goes to bed around 10, and I read until 11.

We have teenagers: we cook together, then eat together. One of us does dishes while the other supervises homework. Sometimes we all watch something together. Sometimes the kids will retire to their rooms with their phones. Sometimes he'll spend an evening in the basement on his computer, but never more than once a week.

But I agree with the earlier poster that it doesn't matter as long as you're ok with it. I would NOT be ok with my kids holed up in their rooms on their devices 7 nights a week. And I would not be ok with my spouse in the basement on his personal device 7 nights a week. We are together more than we're apart at home, but everyone needs a little quiet time sometimes!
