Not enough facts to know for sure, but there's a good starting point for a legit self defense case. Suspect will be very lucky to get released pending trial. What a nightmare.

A good example of "nothing good happens after midnight."

In the mom's IG she refers to him and the other suspect as "my boys." I can't even imagine. He has a decent, intact family, dad is military, grandfather was Fairfax LE. I imagine they will get him a good lawyer. Wonder how he went so off the rails so young?

1. lots of access to guns.
2. too much freedom to be in DC in the early morning.

I should also have added:

3. white male privilege/naivite/entitlement? thinking that you can take a gun with you and then you have an exaggerated sense of authority to stand your ground or argue with others ... that leads to a physical fight.

Ashton is not white, he's biracial. Look at his hair in the fishing trip photos linked upthread. So, tired "white priviledge" trope doesn't fit here.

Sounds like an intact family with strong male role models - military & LE - yet kid was out on U St. at 3:30 am with a gun.

It's unclear to me if the other boy has been arrested, but he has been identified.

He is a boy the family took in several years ago. Said to often be a + influence on AI's behavior/choices.

Why the backpack? Was he dealing or buying that night?

He has a good and intact family, good male role models, supportive extended family, etc. How did he go so far off the rails so young?

Probably his peer group at that high school.

I'm not sure if FCPS or FCPD acted properly or improperly here according to the rules but it's pretty hard to condemn them for keeping a suspected murderer out of the school.

You do you.

Your reading comprehension is laughably bad.

So you didn't read. FCPD, that corrupt organization, is accusing FCPS of tipping off a student by telling him he could not come to school because he was accused of murder with a firearm. FCPS did their job, which is to protect students from alleged murderers. It's not FCPS's fault that police did not search the home of the student in time to find more evidence. Standard procedure is to secure evidence ASAP, and FCPD messed up badly, and even worse, it's now trying to point fingers elsewhere.

Disgusting.

Um, nope, you're the one who can't read. That's not what happened at all.

Let me get this straight. Everyone is reacting to a potential misdeed of FCPD, but not that there is a murderer at West Potomac High School. I guess we just expect that from West Po?

Under "show more" on above post

The grandfather of murder suspect 16-year-old Ashton Inabinet, Robert Wayne Inabinet was a retired Lt. from Fairfax County Police Department. After retirement from the PD, Wayne Inabinet was the Deputy Director of the Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Academy. Lt. Inabinet worked out of Franconia Station, taught at the academy, he was Commander of the Police Liaison Division as a Lieutenant, and commander of the helicopter unit at the time of his retirement in 2009. He passed abruptly on August 8, 2021. Lt. Inabinet was well known throughout the department, and trained many who currently serve in the ranks of the department today.

Because the fact that he is a murderer suggests his parents lost control of him years ago.

His father is in the military and his grandfather was FFX LE. More info re: the search at link

So if investigation botched and doesn’t get convicted, the kid goes back in school.
