Just go. You will block out the horribleness of it in 10 years and be happy you went. Agree with putting in a carseat. Those were the easiest flights.

Every flight I’ve been on recently has been packed. Busy travel days won’t make much difference on that front. Just allow a little extra time for security. 2 adults and 1 kid on a non stop flight should be fine.

Print out rules about how you bought seat for kid and you should get seat- does not happen often but the there are horror stories that if flight oversold they tell parents with kids <2 to put kids on their lap— be ready to push back and take next flight if they do.

Get to airport with plenty of time
Check in as many bags as possible so you have hands free walking through the airport
Board early when they ask for those who need extra time.
Pack plenty of snacks
Permit ample use of an iPad or electronics during flight (spare yourself and everyone on board)
Plan for flight delays

Absolutely. No different than flying any other time these days when flights are always full.
My kids was walking at 10 months and we traveled with him quite a bit including a few cross country flights. It's fine. We never got into the habit of letting him walk the aisles, because once you start that is all they want to do.

For sure do it. I did a similar flight with a very active 19 months old and it was absolutely fine. I've yet to buy mine his own seat- there's no way he'd stay strapped in, but we played games and he napped and even if he's fussy it's not for long. Bring lots of snacks and don't forget the adults- you need snacks too!

Go during their nap time. I went on a 3 hr flight with my DS when he was 18 months and it was fine. The hardest part is getting everything checked, going through security and keeping DS entertained before boarding. Once on the plane he feel asleep, no problem. Also, that flight had multiple other families with their kids, and I swear there wasn't any crying or tantrums. Just one sick kid walking back and forth to the bathroom, but not much else that would be a bother.
As PP's have said food and entertainment is all you need.
