Havanese are considered “Velcro” as well. It’s great for my kid & DH not as much me during the day when I’m working at home and it’s following me around and waiting for permission to jump and sit on my lap.

+1 on maltipoo. Ours is so cuddly and a complete lap dog. Much better suited to senior citizens and anxious older children than a family with young kids, IMO

It just depends on the personality of the dog. Our mini bernedoodle is VERY cuddly.

+4, Chihuahua mix from a rescue would be a great choice. Also look into rat terriers. We adopted a rat terrier mix from a rescue and I learned more about the breed, found out the are known velcro dogs. Our guy looks mostly rat terrier with a bit of beagle and a bit of chihuahua mixed in. It is now no surprise to me that rat terriers, beagles and chihuahua mixes show up on the snuggle list. Our 20 lb rat terrier mix will climb into bed and sleep back to back against my husband, with his head on my husband’s pillow. If anyone in the family is stretched on the couch watching tv or napping, our rattie wedges himself against that person as close as possible and falls asleep with a heavy sigh. I’ve never seen anything like it (have owned numerous dogs over the years) and it is ridiculous and adorable.

Agree. I had a rat terrier-chihuahua mix and he was the sweetest, cuddliest little thing.

Get a nice healthy chihuahua mix from a rescue organization. It will likely live around 15 years without any significant health issues so long as you feed it a good wholesome diet. It will cuddle you like crazy the whole time.

Cavapoo is a Cavalier King Charles and Poodle combined. Best of both worlds

OP here. We have a cat. She’s the same way. Likes to be in the same room with us but not a cuddler. When I’m lying down, if I’m very still (and especially if I’m working on my laptop or need to get up soon), she lays on me. But it’s not very often, and less often with my daughter.

We used to crate our dog at night but gave up with this one. He just missed us too much. Literally lies on top of you all the time.

Same experience!

Every springer spaniel I’ve had gong back to childhood has been a velcro dog. They are high energy and need a lot of exercise, but very connected to their humans.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, very cuddly and affectionate, silky and soft. Ours is great around kids and quick to learn. Well behaved, wants to please us and easy to handle. Best dog we've ever had!
