There was plenty of parking last night. Yes, it was hot and crowded inside, but the overall set up wasn't bad. There was just enough room for another swim team to hold practice during the meet.

Not including 200 free and 200 IM was a great plan too despite some posters criticizing that decision a few weeks ago. Having two or three heats of slow 9 y.o.’s in 200 free would have added to your misery.

The plan was fine. Parents were the problem. It’s a meet for developmental swimmers. In that scenario you have to expect something akin to a summer B meet.

Generally no, but there were 25 events last night and only 3 of them weren’t 8 and under, so yes it was the equivalent of a mini meet.

There were only 3 heats of 8U 100 free, no heat took more than around 2:30. Yes they could’ve combined the girls/boys to save 2 minutes?

There were 2 heats of 8U 100 IM , the very last event, neither of them longer than 2:30. That isn’t “tons” unprepared kids signing up for 100s and was certainly not the major reason for the long meet.

Swimmers have to try new events to get better, this isn’t the Olympics.

A mini meet does not include 200s for 9-12 year olds.
