The Obama admin prioritized ending veteran homelessness and it worked. The pandemic and the fentanyl epidemic fueled a dramatic uptick in street homelessness.

We know how to fix it, but it will take focus and a shift in outreach and placement. The shift is largely in enforcing housing coupled with better case management ratios. Better yet: a modest shift in the rigid Housing First philosophy to allow group housing and roommate pilot programs. There are far too many young people on the street, and they prefer not to live alone.

Group homes equipped with sober living coaches (not rigid rules but positive reinforcement) might work.

I think pp is referring to Carter who lost the election to Reagan in a landslide in 1980 and took office in 1981.
Then, there was George Bush who lost to Clinton in 1992.
And, then most recently, Trump lost to Biden.

I think all 3 of these are examples of being "forced out" by voters.

Now, if you are talking "forced out" as in the DNC forcing Biden out to replace him with someone else, that is a different story.
But, it is certainly something the DNC would do - given their history of making sure their preferred candidate gets the nod.

Losing an election means that ran and lost. That isn't being "forced out" the way some are suggesting for Biden now.

I think the idea is that Trump does worse when he's up against a relative unknown. So, we know both Biden and Trump, and that's good for Trump. The reason he beat Hillary is because we knew Hillary and she was strongly disliked. Biden is also strongly disliked, and this is all great for Trump. But, you replace Biden with someone that people have only vague familiarity with. And that's bad for Trump. People are more likely to go for the unknown.

People are forgetting that Trump has the other trials in spring. There is still too much uncertainty about what will happen with that and what the GOP will do in response. There is also too much worldwide uncertainty - a lot can change. There is no need for the Dems to put anyone else forward right now, just to make targets out of them for both the left and right. Wait until May/June for this idea.

He won’t drop out. But the DNC will select someone else at the Convention. Bank on it.
