Not if you situate the bar correctly. It goes in the notch between collarbone and deltoid on both sides. Wrists are straight. Elbows are high up—the height of the bar—but not weight-bearing.

However, I think OP could cut weight by 10% on back squats and likely continue full squatting for decades without harm. It’s true that the form has to be excellent at the far ends of weight capacity.
