I loathe Whole Foods baked good. Beautiful but taste like cardboard.

Wegmans is very good. Traditional bakeries are very good but expensive. But just in case it’s within your range, check out Stella’s in Rockville.

Also have never met anyone in real life who doesn’t like the chocolate Bundt from Nothing But Bundts. My daughter scrapes off most of the icing as she does on nearly every cake she’s ever had, but the cake itself is it overly sweet. (The chocolate one specifically. The others may be.)

If it is for adults, I would go to a bakery.

For kids supermarket is fine (mine liked ice cream cake with chocolate crunchies!)

I think the Giant on Old Georgetown Road & Democracy still bakes in-store.

+1 for WF berry chantilly

Totally agree, the Nothing Bundt cake was pure sugar and very artificial.

Love the Whole Foods Berry Chantilly cake.

Yes it is. I need to get a big cake for around 35-40 people. Reeling just at the price of grocery cake. I don’t need to spend $100+ on a cake.

I was quoted $260 for a half sheet cake in silver spring. And the image on it was going to be an edible image, they wouldn’t even do it in frosting for that price.

Tout de Sweet in Bethesda is a pastry shop with a French patissier. You need to order the cakes in advance. They're much more refined and better-tasting than supermarket cakes.
