Ugh. I can’t anymore. Why can’t we be like Australia or Switzerland with this?
Any and all of these lawmakers and judges should be put in a lockdown with their families and feel what it’s like to be hunted with weapons you don’t stand a chance. They need to experience that terror and grief. It’s unbelievable how they lack all empathy and sense.

Hey. Genius. Red flag laws would keep people with strong mental health problems and a history of domestic abuse from getting these guns. You cowards can’t even support that.
I bet you didn’t even look at the pictures. I bet Mr. Braggy “I have a Colt gun” didn’t either. Why do I think that? Because you want to stay stupid. You don’t want to admit that thee damage these assault rifles (whether or not the AR stands for that, that’s what it is, and you know it) do is massively more than regular guns.

Don’t get me wrong mass shootings are horrific and terrible events, but the AR-15 that everyone wants to get rid of has been around since the 1950’s, a good 40 years before we began to see mass shootings at schools and other venues.
Want to stop mass shootings, improve mental health screenings and treatment. Get people with mental illness into treatment and where necessary confinement. That is how you will stop mass shootings.
People with mental illness will always find a way to do harm. In countries with restricted access to guns they do it by driving vehicles into pedestrian only spaces.

Yeah, sure. Are you advocating for the huge amounts of money and increased infrastructure needed for that?
We can do both-no more fun toy gun and more money for mental health.

How is that not a vast majority??????
Gun nuts/forced birthers are happy to totally strip women of bodily autonomy when maybe 10% of the population supports that, but 70% and up is just too low to be taking small steps to save kids from a violent death.
(I would guess that many gun nuts are also domestic abusers and are aware on some level that they shouldn’t have guns, and wouldn’t.)

I couldn't get through the entire article today. I saw some video of Marjorie Stoneman Douglas right after it happened and it was horrific.
This a true national shame and a stain on America. I have to admit that in 2012, after Sandy Hook, when no legislation passed, I lost a lot of faith in America that I have yet to regain. The gun violence, and the seeming impossibility of even keeping it at bay is a major reason I'm looking for my kids to go to college abroad.
