I think coaching matters. Last year on paper BCC had the 3rd or 4th best girls team. They came within a handful of points of winning the whole meet. Stone Ridge was 100 pts better than any other team but barely squeaked by BCC. Coaching had a very big impact on getting those kids ready to compete and selecting the right relays.

I think WJ girls win metros, RM, Wooton, BCC all top 5.

WJ and RM will be close. Holton is a sleeper. Stone Ridge a shell of themselves but could be decent. I think Churchill and Whitman girls are in striking distance of top 5

Actually, Stoneridge is more of a sleeper than Holton. But WJ will win Metros easlily. No competition, IMO.

No fast girls left at Stoneridge. In a few years when the middle schoolers age up, maybe (if they continue to swim fast). But the ledecky-bacon-gemmel-sun days are over

Agree, WJ wins.

Wooton was not what I expected at divisionals.

I think rest of top 5 comes from Holton, RM, BCC, Good Counsel, Churchill and NCS.

Of course, so we’re discussing how this year’s swimmers shake out.

But it’s also about depth to score three relays. And scoring divers helps for sure.

Can we make this money bet? RM will smoke BCC girls

WJ, RM, BCC

Any guesses now that divisional results are rolling in?

Their relays will be good but not great. RM has better relay pieces.

RM will have some great relays, but will depend some on who swims what. I think WJ has more depth to field three strong relays.

Next week's big private school meet (WMPSSDL) will be a good indicator of how the private schools stack against each other.

Good Counsel was the top DMV team at National Catholics (4th, Stone Ridge in 7th).

Holton won ISL by a large margin, the next 7 teams were closer (Stone Ridge was 5th).

I don't think any of the private schools have a chance at Metros this year.

Definitely not to win.

Holton and Good Counsel will place the best, maybe one of them as high as 4/5.

Other teams have a few swimmers and/or relays that will place well.
