Also- no IV
This would have been a high risk pregnancy and she would have had an IV.

Definitely-in my mind- surrogate.

But what a beautiful baby!!

+1 definitely not post partum boobs lol

Also, she looks way too fresh to have given birth.

His 4 oldest kids were born well before he became hugely famous (they are 25, 23 and 22), so I would find this strange if it were about him. Oscar and this baby are the only ones born post-fame.

Not always. I’m 51 and not in menopause yet.

I'm closer to 54 than 53 and still have a semi regular cycle.

She has miscarried multiple times. I cannot imagine Gordon cares as she's primarily raising the kids with nannies and they have plenty of money. Or, he agrees to make her happy as he's a known cheater.

Definitely surrogate!! You usually are there at the birth of your surrogate and she looks too fresh. If she just had a baby she has a glam team in the hospital but I don’t think she just had a baby. Somebody had it for them because she lost a baby at five or six months I believe either before Oscar, or after Oscar in any case congratulations Kudos to any woman having a baby at almost 50!!! my God not me

My teen told me in horror that the mom will be in her late 60s and dad in his 70s when the kid turns 18.

We decided that they are so wealthy that they can probably manage it as they will be able to afford whatever extra help they need if they feel tired. They don’t have the same constraints as most of us .

Also these days those ages are not too extreme. We had youngest DC later in life (not quite that late) and there are definite pros and cons.

Good luck to them.

Could easily have been IVF

Please my Aunt had her baby at 47. I’m still premenopause at 56. Tana just had a 4 year old. It happens.

It may happen but it's rare and even rarer to not miscarry and have a healthy child. You didn't see celebrities having babies past the age of 45 decades ago. It's only happening now because of the rise of surrogacy, embryo adoption, egg freezing and IVF.

Have no idea if this lady gave birth but oops (menopause) baby is real…happened to my mom’s friend. Her other 2 kids were already adults.

I’m 58. Menopause didn’t start for me until I hit 52, even then my doctor told me I would still be fertile as my periods hadn’t stopped completely.

To answer why in a hospital bed if she didn’t give birth? The baby is there. Lol She would be encouraged to do skin to skin right away and they would stay in a hospital room with the baby until discharged.

It’s a bit unfair to the child at that age, but they have plenty of money and hopefully one of the older siblings would step in.

See above note about incredibly selfish. Nothing like making an older sibling doing the job of the parent!

Laura Linney had a baby the month before she turned 50. It is possible, especially for a subsequent pregnancy, not a first.
