Your daughter is in my thoughts. A few years ago I got sepsis after having strep throat. I spent 4 days in the hospital but had a smooth recovery. Your daughter is in the best place getting the meds she needs. I know it's so scary, but she's young and healthy and the antibiotics will start working soon. Don't beat yourself up. Sepsis is sneaky. The important thing is she's getting treatment now. Hang in there.

OP left out originally that her kid just had a surgery. They tell you what to look out for post surgery but many people ignore unfortunately. Pain, swelling, rash, fever, fatigue days after a surgery means a call to the doc and likely ER.

Praying for your DD and for you and your husband. She’s blessed to have such competent parents. I’m not sure I would have put it all together but will definitely read up on it now.

I’m sending you all my very best, OP. I had post-surgical sepsis as an adult and it sucked like hell, but ultimately I was fine. When I was admitted, my HR was twice normal and I had a fever of 103F. Took the antibiotics maybe 12 hours to start feeling the effects? Spent four days inpatient and was fully recovered in a week, maybe?

You caught it early, she’s in the hospital and receiving the best possible care. Hang in there. I’m thinking of your daughter.

When my son was sick over the summer he had a really high fever but more importantly was so fatigued and weak. The rash started to spread and his knee (likely where the infection originated thru a small cut he got at the beach) became swollen and blue. Everything just got worse as each minute passed. You’ll know it is time to get them to see a doctor! I’ve never had a kid that sick and I knew.

Trying to be far too impressive at gymnastics. From what I've been told the body goes rogue and attacks everything. I might be wrong. But the important bit is hopefully the antibiotics were given early enough to fight it off.

Oh, one of you is allowed at a time. That makes more sense! Go be with your child, OP. Reassure her. There are very good odds that everything will be fine.
