Spa Botánico at the Ritz Carlton Dorado Beach is out of this world. Enjoy it!

I don’t think there’s anything to justify. You book it and you go. Have a nice time.

Haven’t read all the comments here.

I have never had to justify solo trips, spa or otherwise. I go to Esalen on my own every other year or so, and am planning a spa trip to Sedona soon. I have my own money as well, but my DH doesn’t mind me spending “our money” on this either, and you seem to have (a bit) more money than we do.

This isn’t about money for you, even though I know it feels that way — it’s about control and fear. And you appear to be doing it to yourself as much as your DH may be.

Just book the trip and go. You don’t need to justify it.

This update is so great! Now, book yourself another trip for next quarter/year/whatever so you have something to look forward to.

He said it was great and he was fully supportive and didn't even question it. Also, I booked first class on the way back to continue my zen.

Regarding my poor inner child, I did a lot of therapy b/c I realized that it was me holding me back.

I very much appreciate all the support that I got on this thread. A DCUM unicorn. I will report back once I go.

OP great update! Sorry whatever happened that delayed your trip. Awesome that your DH is being supportive!

Start the conversation with...for my "milestone" birthday, I'd like to spend a week at this spa.

Conversation with husband was a non event. I said (like others suggestion) that for my milestone birthday, I'm going to a destination spa for a week, alone. He asked if i wanted him to book it or if I would do it myself.

That's it!

Great update! Now relax and look forward to it, OP!
