Happened at my kid’s HS last year. Girl was suspended. She was watching it during class. Her parents were big donors which may have played a role in what I considered the minor punishment.

But we’re also in VA so the kid would not be able to access porn in the first place.

I’m also in VA and this is news to me. Unless you mean the “porn passport” law that requires adult sites to verify users are 18, which many sites are not complying with and that there is already back door technology available to circumvent? But by all means, do keep relying on the internet to police itself and protect your child.

There is no access to porn in VA? Do tell!

Child should be expelled, and case referred to CPS in case the child is being abused.

If not expelled, the other parents should pull their children out of the school, no reason to pay extra $$$ for it.

Our school has expelled a kid for much less -- my guess is more he was retelling things that he saw on adult websites -- but the school also bans kids from having cell phones at school.

That is just horrible, defective and negligent parenting. Who gives and iPhone to a 9 or 10 year old child?!

Seriously, what are the odds that a private school parent would give their kid an inappropriately expensive item? Just astonishing. /s

If this happened during school, and if the school didn't expel the student, I would leave the school (and initiate a lawsuit if they threatened to keep me on the hook for tuition payments); I might even leave the school regardless of whether they expelled the offending student. Schools step into the role of primary guardian of our children during school hours, and if they were so incompetent as to be allowing 9 year-old boys to be engaging in this activity during school hours for over two months, my trust in the school would be shattered.

Obviously the boy made a mistake, which is to be expected of children; however, the parents are at fault for giving their child a phone without any restrictions, and those type of careless parents should not be welcome in any decent private school.

I can't decide if this is sarcastic, or hopelessly naive. Regardless, LOL at the notions that you get to dictate how schools punish other kids, or that private school kids, and their parents are somehow paragons of virtue. Good stuff, PP.

This happened on campus all the time when my children attended Burgundy Farm for middle school. I reported it to the school and they did nothing. I'm wondering if it's the same school.

50% of kids have seen porn by age 10. I would hope the school would be part of the solution to that problem.

That kid would already be gone at our school. They are incredibly strict on social media infractions and there are no second chances.
