For me, first time = note under the windshield wiper.
Second time, call the non-emergency number police to have them ticket
Third time, call the tow company, no warning.

And for me, 24 hours is one instance. So in the first 24 hours, I would have put a note on the car. 24-48 hours would be to call the police. 48+ hours, I would be calling a tow company.

We need an update OP.

Also, maybe I missed it but does the owner live nearby?

The street is one way so you can only back out one direction, which requires swinging the car around this asshat that has blocked about two feet of swing space. No way Arlington or my neighbors would let me cone off an area in the street. I also have a 16 year old new driver and I don't want them hitting the car.

It will be 48 hours at noon today. Dude is getting ticketed.

Then why did you even bother asking? You could just leave a note on the car saying if he does it again, you will call the police.

Well, it looks like they asked for advice and then decided TWO DAYS LATER to get him ticketed.

I'd call after the first time. He does it because he knows you're a pushover.

Let him deal with the city - he won't know if someone called it in or if a cop just saw the badly parked car and decided to ticket.

I live in DC and walk around my neighborhood a lot. I often see illegally parked cars that make it dangerous for pedestrians and other drivers. I use the DC311 app and report it.

Happy to see lots of tickets get issued - it keeps my tax rates down.

They won’t tow for that, but they will ticket. They will also run the plate to see who the owner is, and they might go over and ask them to move it. I have a TH in Arlington and I have had to call a few times for something worse than that.

As it's a one-way street with tight parking, and someone comes out to ticket, will they glance up the whole street and ticket any violators? I hope so. That way it doesn't look targeted and you don't have to worry about angry repercussions (not that you have to but these days, sheesh)
