Rodney Scott BBQ is awful.
Swig & Swine is a lot better.

What do you find personally awful about Rodney Scott’s? Serious question

Just doesn’t compare taste wise to other places close by. The sides are just gross. I have been to events he has personally catered and food was great. Scaling BBQ for multiple locations is hard to do.

Swig & Swine for whole pork, Lewis’s for brisket.

The sides at Swig & Swine range from really good (corn pudding) to terrible (collards); everything at John Lewis is excellent.

Raw 167 for amazing sushi, Melfi's for Italian, Leon's Fine Poultry and Oyster Shop for an amazing lunch/brunch (the best fried chicken, salad, grilled oysters).

But your best bet is go to thestripe.com and read her Charleston guide. It's a wealth of information from a 40-something woman who lives there and eats out all the time.

Overrated. Tiny drinks. I was underwhelmed.

Please skip Poogan's Porch - it is seriously mediocre

Agree. I would even go as far to say it was terrible.
