OP call the host today and ask if you can reschedule to another weekend. Explain the situation. They may be willing to work with you guys.


I can't understand if I am following these post correctly, but I think if you're military and this was a military related cancellation - it's worth a shot.

Really? So you never go anywhere without 911 access? I'm sorry, but that's limiting.

My husband is big law, when we had to cancel vacation in the past when he was an associate , the firm reimbursed

I've happily camped solo in remote primitive cabins. With 2 preschoolers... heck no.
Agree with PPs that employer should reimburse.

I have an irrational fear of being in remote cabins, so I would definitely just not go.
