NO ONE protects women in this country.

They protect men's supposed right to have a gun.

The plaintiff dropped the charges. During the time the DV case was pending he was not to have access to weapons. Victims need to follow through on the charges. It's a tough situation, but necessary.

When I first saw the picture, I thought he might be the judge.

Things happen in life and people lose it.

Lethal means of "coping" should not be at the ready in our society.

Heartbreaking. I feel so terrible for the judge's family!!

It's a reminder of what risks judges routinely incur when dealing with unstable, dangerous people.

No. A county circuit judge does not have round the clock security. Most federal judges do not have this. What gave you this idea?


I dunno. Movies? Movies always show judges surrounded by teams of bodyguards and others patrolling outside their homes.

I was also surprised when that Texas congressman was carjacked a couple weeks ago that he didn’t have a team of security people.


And this person can vote. There are almost 100 federal courts in this country and 535 members of congress. You thought all those individuals had security by measure of multiple people. For crying out loud.

Is this a typical amount of divorce filings? Seems like a lot. I’m guessing the dude is dead somewhere, self-inflicted.


I hope his ex-wife is under protection. Surely she is next on his list.


This was my first thought after the news conference this morning, that I hope she and her children are protected and okay.

I know sheriffs who do courthouse security and the family court cases are always the biggest concern, along with the high profile drug cases where you have a criitical witness testifying.
