Chicken with Greek-inspired seasoning - oregano, lemon.

Greek means “from Greece” - that’s a country in the Mediterranean. Which is a sea.

Any more questions?

Maybe put it all together for a greek chicken salad -add thinly slice red onion and you could spice up the feta/fire feta. I would order take-out breadsticks and maybe add some more butter and garlic, lots of pita is really mediocre and difficult to keep warm. Make sure the olives are pitted.

Just want to add that feta crumbles via Costco are too salty and not the best. Buy the Trader Joe’s feta in the tub with brine and crumble it yourself- heaps better.

Agree. Since it’s all women how about an arugula salad?

Nice job OP!

I'm even a vegetarian - so wouldn't eat the chicken - and would be completely satisfied.

My only issue would be - is it going to be too messy? I'm picturing a book club sitting on a couch, eating feta crumbles and trying to share some hummus without ruining the furniture. (Am I slobbier than other middle aged women??)

I was wondering the same - is the idea that people will assemble pita pockets with these ingredients and eat them like a sandwich?

I also thought the same. It sounds delicious, but normally for "not a meal" gatherings things to pick on is more common. This sounds like an assemble your own sandwich station, which is fine, I'd eat it and probably enjoy it, but not the same as picking on a charcuterie and cheese or small app with wine thing which is more common in my circles where it's clear there is not a meal being served. It does sound a little messy...

Huh? Chicken and salad IS dinner for plenty of people I know.

I’m middle aged and I LOVE rice, as do my friends. Though I agree that you don’t really need it if you are serving pita.

Maybe it's just my circle. ALL my middle aged women friends are perpetually dieting and avoiding carbs.

It IS just your circle. In my circle, there is exactly one person who wont eat carbs, but she has disordered eating.

My circle eats carbs too. But agree that rice isn’t necessary if you already have pita since it’s not a meal.

+2

And are people standing abd trying to hold a plate and eat at the same time? Are they sitting on your couch trying to eat off their lap?

Your menu isn't really stabding/eating off your lap friendly. Maybe if the chicken was on a small skewer but you still have messy items to eat.

You know your group best, but I'm not much of a Greek food person so I'd probably be disappointed that there weren't any "safe" foods (I guess I'd eat pita and some chicken).

I love this menu! I would prefer tzatziki over hummus and like block feta cubed over the crumbles but other than that, it's a great menu that allows people to pick what they please.

I am middle aged and just scarfed down a pita bread, whole danged thing. And potatoes for lunch! And had apples! Had rice on the weekend. Oh, and I am 120 lbs at 5'4".
Bite me. Wait, you actually might bite me as you are clearly in some starvation mode.

NP. Whoa. You are rude and no one cares what you weigh.
