That’s why OP is asking if the people posting on here are from other states originally. Which is likely since many people in DC are transplants, and also a lot of people post here from locations across the country.


Half the country doesn’t have a passport and half the country doesn’t move more than driving distance from their hometown. That’s their thing, so be it.

If they are watering down DCUM that’s another issue.

I never got the impression that people in DCUM married and had kids young. At all.

Born in upstate NY but moved a couple of times as a child. Since college and marriage I’ve lived on both coasts and in between.

DH’s family is from SW MO and they have kids young. Curious, when visiting the kinfolk back in the Show Me state, have you/your DH ever been accused of having "too much education"? Do strangers/extended family ever mistake you for your child's grandparent? Finally, have you visited branson enough times that you've finally broken down and purchased customized novelty t-shirts for the whole family?


NP. Your post is so full of judgement. I'm from Nebraska (similar place). Married at 27, kids at 31, very educated. People are way too nice to "accuse you" of anything. They are not a$$holes like wherever you grew up.

Bethesda, married at 32, currently 45yo F.

Lived in DC since 2004, first used DCUM for real estate. Then years later baby stuff. Now marital difficulties! Lol. Not lol.
