I'm stuck on why the OP didn't include an email address to RSVP in addition to the phone number!

And +100 to all the people saying she's super petty. Let the girl come.

Our school will only allow paper invites to the whole class. They won’t give out info for evites. It’s annoying- Not OP

But that said just include her. Probably at least one other person who RSVPed will not come. Or someone will bring an uninvited sibling. These things happen.

I’d be really annoyed if I had to call someone I didn’t know to RSVP. Why wouldn’t you put your email address instead?


I know OP said call to rsvp but I would definitely text, not call and I assume most parents would do the same. You have a phone #, 99% of time you’re texting not calling especially someone you don’t know well.

OP, yeah the mom should’ve said so sorry we lost the invitation and if it’s too late for us to attend I understand or something along those lines in her email. But it sounds like she/her kid cares enough to search for your email and reach out and let you know they still want to come so I’d try to include them if I could.

Gosh I’m so surprised that the mom who has to be a PITA and send paper invites requiring a call to RSVP has a major stick up her butt and is insane.

I’m petty and also wouldn’t want to call and add one to the play place . Just don’t respond to the email. You wait till the last minute and are rude - too bad. No kid cares if they miss one party out of a million.

Oh gawd you are being cray- cray! Who cares- kid can come great. Can’t come- great. Minor inconvenience on your part. Do you know how many birthday invites parents get particularly when they have multiple kids? They are not a priority. Get over yourself
