I’d be really annoyed if I had to call someone I didn’t know to RSVP. Why wouldn’t you put your email address instead?
I know OP said call to rsvp but I would definitely text, not call and I assume most parents would do the same. You have a phone #, 99% of time you’re texting not calling especially someone you don’t know well.
OP, yeah the mom should’ve said so sorry we lost the invitation and if it’s too late for us to attend I understand or something along those lines in her email. But it sounds like she/her kid cares enough to search for your email and reach out and let you know they still want to come so I’d try to include them if I could.
