It's folded or hung up.

I have four kids and the oldest is 10. I fold and the two oldest put their clothes away. I’d love to have a W/D on the second floor.

Similar to me. Not exactly Marie Kondo but I do fold in a particular (three-fold) way to maximize space and ability to find the shirt they want. Kids are similar ages and I sometimes have them help fold.

For now my focus is on: folding pjs in the morning and putting dirty clothes in the hamper each night.

We do have a clean hamper because while I always find time to do the laundry, it takes me a long time to find time to fold it. Also, I usually fold the kids clothes immediately and mine linger for a few weeks lol

No, but my kids (6 and 8) do their own laundry. Why would I fold kid pants and shirts?

I showed my 7 YO DD how to use the hanger and put away her clothes. She just started doing it on her own but she does it. I say it she doesn't, then I can't do any more loads of laundry for her until her old clothes are put away. It's her problem if she doesn't want to but she does.

Our washer dryer is on the same floor as the bedrooms and it goes straight from the dryer onto a bed to be hung/folded/put away. Not having baskets for clean clothes forces us to put them away pretty much immediately. On the weekend, we work together on this. If our clothes, DH and I will fold together and then put away -- takes 10 minutes tops. If kids clothes, sometimes all of us do it together, sometimes just DH and I, sometimes one of us with kids. The kids aren't old enough to do it on their own but we often give them a stack of things to hang up as that's easy and they can do it themselves.

During the week, I usually do a few loads of laundry when I'm working from home and put them away myself, but I tend to focus on sheets and towels for these loads as they are easy to fold and put away and it gets those items out of the way so we can just wash clothes on the weekend when there are more people around.

My kid does his own laundry. He started doing it when he was 8. His folding has gotten better over the year but now he is a teenager and doesn't care how he folds his stuff.

I am trying to teach my kids how to iron their shirts and hang them in the closet. My kids can fold their t-shirts and clothes very well. You have to teach them and until it becomes part of their routine.

I have a dirty clothes hamper but don't have a basket for clean clothes. I pull them out of the dryer and hang them/fold them there. Then I put them away. Sometimes I carry the load to my couch to fold.

When I had a clean clothes basket, clothes didn't leave it.... And I often had to refold things before putting them in drawers. There just wasn't a purpose.

I do everyone's laundry and I do at least 2 or 3 loads every single day. I really don't mind. I also have a weekly cleaner and I still wipe down kitchen counters and vacuum the kitchen every day. Regular maintenance means that I am not overwhelmed and laundry goes very fast.
