What some people fail to understand is that car safety isn’t just about surviving or not. You can survive but then have some pretty terrible injuries. Oh and when you are unbuckled you become a projectile who can kill or hurt other people. So it’s not just about you.

PPP who is okay with not buckling. You okay with your kids changing your diaper for as long as you live? Because that is more likely than death.

Tall bridge?
The unbuckled will be tossed around in the car and be too injured to swim.
Also, cars don't usually sink so fast because of the air pocket inside.

Yes to me it's obvious that everybody in the car needs to be buckling up. I think most people feel that way, but there are some outliers.
My ex-husband is from a very rural town, and he had friends that thought it was hilarious that some people feel the need to buckle up if they're just driving 5 minutes to Walmart or whatever. Meanwhile, the roads and terrain there are exactly where you could get into a bad wreck.

Op here. Not a troll, and I'm sorry I came off as a Karen, I usually am not that type of person at all. I'm just surprised any time I encounter this situation, and it happened again before I posted.

If I drive into a lake it's because I want everyone going down with the ship so buckled it is.
