Are you trying to prove my point? The PP said Richmond was somehow racist and their commitment to diversity seemed fake in some way, but I sure didn’t see it when I was there.
As for URMs being unable to go on college tours, waah waah waah cry me a river.
The point as to 60% white was to use statistics to prove that OP (claiming only whites on tour - same as the troll on the Wake Forest page) is wrong, lying or trying to stir the pot. U of Richmond has the same demographics as all the other privates. There's no story here as there is no story about Wake Forest. People are pot-stirring at this time of year or trying to get even with institutions that didn't accept their kids. If someone says something histrionic and the data says otherwise, follow the data or do your own research.
I'm the WF poster and I'm not a troll. It truly was the preppiest place I've ever been as well as feeling very white. My kids have not applied to schools yet so I have no sour grapes about anything. I have nothing to do with this Richmond post.
No. I just lectured there at the law school. The students (undergrads too) were absolute slobs in dress and attire. Give the preppy stuff a break. And stop using sloppy generalizations.

The only kids I know that are there or have gone there are public HS kids, and one was even ROTC there. I mean, I haven't ever seen their family bank statements, but I don't think their families are multimillionaires based on their parents' jobs, where they live, and where their kids went to HS.
This may shock you, but even kids whose families are well-off do ROTC.

Well, looking at this data from the New York Times, looks like Richmond is no more or less of a rich kids college than any other top 50 college...

It's more of an upper-middle class school, but the median parent income is around 150k for this 2014 NYTimes data which is pretty high--it's the 47th highest median income out of all the schools. But both UVA and W&M have higher family median incomes than University of Richmond. Washington & Lee is the quintessential 'rich kid' school in VA--with 80% of its students coming from the top 20% and a median income of over 260k--2% are from the .1% and 19% are from the 1%.
