I read the morning emails from NYT and Politico. Then I go to FoxNews.com, just to see what they are not reporting, which is usually whatever is the lead story on NYT and Politico.

You do understand that the WSJ is Capitalist propaganda?

Capitalist propaganda? Lol
That's a new one.
It's definitely more moderate than NYT, as NYT has a fairly intense focus on social justice issues.

Don't laugh, but the Yahoo news webpage offers a good summary of the top stories.
https://news.yahoo.com/

The Upfirst podcast selects a few stories to cover more thoroughly. You couldn't rely on it to keep up-to-date on current events.

for a living, I teach how to find unbiased sources. 5 years ago the allsides graphic was, by and large, correct.
Now, the C should be empty.

The NyT has a headlines podcast that’s less than 10 min

WaPO and NyT have morning newsletters you can sign up for.

This is pretty outdated. For one thing, the BBC has gone very woke, which bothers a lot of Brits (but it doesn't bother me or my British relatives).

And this figure doesn't address fact-checking and all-round journalistic integrity. On that measure, The NY Times is way better than Fox News.

Like pp, I listen to NPR's UpFirst podcast during the week. I've joined in on the thread where long-time listeners (like me) complained about the programming, but this podcast works for me.

NPR, like BBC, is extremely biased and woke.

The chart’s placement of NPR anywhere near the center is laughably misleading.

For basic news that covers both left and right leaning media outlets, NewsBreak is not bad.

The trouble is the right leaning media outlets tend to provide kookier opinion reporting or sensational crimes - but at least there are different echo chambers provided.

PPs are overthinking this. OP just needs to be aware enough for water cooler conversation, not have an educated position on policy.

OP, skim the headlines on WaPo and WTOP (because both are local) and BBC or NPR if you have time. That will be plenty.
