Arnold has a girlfriend. I'm not sure about Maria having a boyfriend. They just seemed very in love in the beginning. And Arnold seemed genuinely sorry. He told in his autobiographical documentary how Maria asked the marriage counselor to ask Arnold during one of their sessions if he was Joseph's father. And he said yes. When he tells this story, he seems so remorseful.

I think I would have forgiven him.

Exactly this. My DH has been watching and I keep loudly rolling my eyes and asking why he's watching multiple hours of Arnold's Infomercial selling himself. Gross.
