Ha ha that is not at all true. Speeds are so much lower. Odds of surviving a 25 mph crash at 10x higher than a 50 mph crash.
I’m a third generation New Yorker and would never in a million years have a young child in a car in NYC without a car seat.

In NYC, when you are driving on local streets, the speed limit is 25MPH, and you are often nowhere near that. Just like the highway, right?
