Don’t the stores have insurance??? These are nonviolent crimes, people! Have some perspective and empathy.

So we have less cops and prosecutors who now also refuse to prosecute crimes like shoplifting and trespassing in the name of social justice.

So even the people arrested tonight will be out by morning sinner they won’t get cash bail and probably get charged with a misdemeanor. So then they can do this all again next week.

Yeah, sounds like a good plan. And then when these stores close, you’ll have the. Same old people crying about how business abandoned the inner city.

Well, since Philly never defunded the police and actually increased their budget in 2022, your argument is moot.

19million dollar cut in 2020. So yeah, they did.

Think it through; was everyone going about their normal business in 2020 or were people in their homes more than usual?

And good. I hope they’re able to pick up the lot of them and throw the book at them. It’s one thing when one person shoplifts a single canister of baby formula to feed their child - still wrong but it’s defensible on a human level - but organized crime is organized crime. Throw the book at them.

- a liberal
2020 was the summer of love. Don’t re-write history. They defunded because BLM movement was huge and liberals like yourself supported it.

The “throw the book at them’ then signing “a liberal” is a huge virtue signal on your part

The Trump administration was a time of constant looting, riots, criminal gang activities and insurrections. We all remember Trumps inability to govern the country and how the country became unsafe. Biden has made great strides in restoring lol in order but maga is actively working against this.

My. Maga is looting and burning stores?

Takes long hard look at the demographics shoplifting and looting and stealing from malls.

Those are Maga? Fancy that!

Oh, wait, you must have meant Biden voters? Now that makes sense.

You can be pretty sure these criminals are not voters at all. They want as little to do with any government office or process as possible.

I disagree. Like Chicago, it is the criminals and wanna be criminals who continue to vote in the people who will allow them to continue to commit crime and not be held accountable. They WANT these people in power.

This is your imagination. They and their neighborhoods are the most disaffected groups in the country. And yes, they want as little contact with all things government as possible.

Then, you would *think* that they would not commit crimes if they don't want contact with government.
Nice try, excuse-maker. These people are criminals who vote for progressive leaders so they can continue their criminal ways.

In your dreams. It’s like you’ve never met a person born into a violent, poor, and neglected community.

I try to stay away from people who are so entitled they believe that anything that belongs to someone else is ripe for the taking.
I know plenty of people raised in poor, violent areas. They did not behave this way. There is NO excuse for this crap.

That’s not what the previous exchange was about. Your changed the subject.

Like how Republicans like to say they’re voting for Trump because of “Trump derangement syndrome”? How it’s never Trump’s fault, ever?

I said upthread: pick them up. Charge them with the max. This isn’t some deep thing. This is the police failing to police despite having more money than some small countries.

What a load of crap.
I saw the police making arrests. I saw them putting themselves in harm's way trying to contain the mobs.
They were totally outnumbered, but that didn't stop them from bringing in 15 of the lowlifes.
Now, the questions.... Are those arrested already out of jail? Will they be prosecuted? And, if they are, will they get a slap on the wrist or a significant punishment?
And, another question..... Will any of these lowlifes bring a lawsuit against the police for "brutality," because I saw them being pretty rough with this law breakers who were resisting arrest. And, IMO, that brutality was totally deserved by the punks committing the crimes.

Anonymous wrote:You can fund the police however you want it, but no amount of money makes a difference if the political impetus isn't on cracking down on crime. Why bother arresting looters or criminals when a soft on crime DA drops the charges? Why go after petty crime when nothing happens but paperwork and the perp still walks away.

These kids looted because they know nothing will happen to them. And nothing will happen because the police know the courts and politicians get in the way.

It's not just Philly but most major cities including DC. Crime is exploding because the police aren't allowed to be policemen any more. If the police proactively tackle crime, they are racist, so they don't do anything.

But I'll concede the infamous comment that people voted for it rings true. You live in a big city, you vote for the Democrats, you effectively voted for this.

I agree.

I’m sorry, but these people have their fking fingers in their ears. All they hear is “jail bad”, “restorative justice” and “money for wrap around services.”

That’s it.

Even with crime skyrocketing because police are restricted, judges won’t prosecute, criminals know they have free run, and all this soft on crime “holistic non-punitive”bullsht being touted by progressives because it’s (selectively) “evidence-based”, none of it while silence these people.

Let’s see in 5 years how crime is if we keep up with this stuff.
