Even if the issue is that she's anxious, then your response should be to make things easier for her, rather than harder. One piece outfits are way easier on little babies. Either respect her wishes or change more diapers. I have family members where Dad changes every single diaper when he's home as long as the baby is nursing. Seems reasonable to me!

Is she usually anxious? How old is the baby? If she starts to get anxious about regular everyday things or starts to try to control you and the environment, that is definitely worth a talk with the doctor.

3.5 weeks. I will keep that in mind to bring up at 6 weeks Appointment

For heavens sake. 3.5 weeks.

My kids lived in baby gowns for the first month. Open at the bottom was easiest for changing so that’s what we did. With a swaddle most of the day.
Worry about what is easy and comfortable, not what present gets used.

If you bring this up at the check up I hope your wife and the doctor both laugh at you.

The one pieces are definitely easier and more comfortable for babies but why not dress the kid in something cute for the morning and change him out at naptime. I did that a lot.

I suspect the outfits not being used are the ones gifted by the OP’s side of the family. If the OP’s wife is the one doing most of the feeding, snuggling and diaper changing, she gets to decide what the baby wears.

So dress the baby and take him out for a few errands or an outing. Get up and get the baby dressed. Stop being a puss puss and take your kid out for a bit.

You should really do ALL the diaper changes then op!!!

Usually all these outfits gifts to babies get "wasted" OP. They aren't practical at all and are just for show for a short visit with Grandma or church or whatever.

Please let your wife use the clothing that is more practical on a daily basis. Or, you can put the baby in cute little outfits when you take care of them for the day.

It's not. You're just being controlling. If she's nursing, let her dress the baby in the way that works for her. She's likely knows better than you how much his belly expands when he's nursing. She also might be noticing that he seems uncomfortable towards the end of nursing sessions and be guessing that it could be his clothes. That's not "anxiety" it's problem-solving. You try something else and see if it gets better. That's a normal and healthy approach to parenting.

We did sleepers for our twins til we started potty training.

So easy with diaper changes and laundry. I envied the cute outfits but this fit our lives. People gave us stuff. They got donated eventually. Even had unsolicited hand me downs from family members. Those got donated too.

Most babies only wear those outfits for as long as it takes to send the picture you took to the family members or friends who gave them the outfits. Or for a special occasion.

Most little babies live in sleepers and onesies OP. It is unrealistic to put them in cute little outfits for more than an hour or two.

Being that brand-specific is a little out there, but my babies lived in sleepers for their first year. The only way to solve this problem is to dress and change the baby. Take a photo the second the baby wears something new, so you can document that it was used. Then, when you’re sharing pics with the person who gave it to you, slip that photo in with others. They’ll feel appreciated. Once you’ve documented all the outfits, let it go.
