The elevator was installed by Premier Lifts in Hunt Valley Maryland. I also have them come to service it once a year. We have never had problems. What is one reader said you are required by law to have a phone with a landline in it. That may seem Inconvenient for some but we find it worth it.

We bought a house with an elevator a love it - in particular when our aging parents come to visit. We weren’t long specifically for a house with an elevator, but now that we have one I wouldn’t trade it. We are mid-50s but an elevator may help us stay in our house as long as we want. We also have a primary Bedroom with full bath on the main floor.

Aging in place is more than just the stairs. You might look into other needs - there will be many self care areas to consider physically, and then there are cognitive areas as well.

We renovated and built the space and structure for an elevator in case we want to install one someday or can advertise if we sell the house that one can be installed. But, we don't need it yet so use the space for other things.

Vacuum elevators don’t have these issues.
