I was indoorsy until I had a very outdoorsy son. I think you should be honest about what you do and don’t enjoy BUT you can learn to love new things for someone you love.

I was indoorsy until I met my outdoorsy DH. He introduced me to the peace of canoeing on the Shenadoah River and I love it. We hike, too, and I think nature helps my mood. Don't love the time a tick lived on my for days once, right in a spot I couldn't see it -- grossest thing in the world when I found it.

I am “outdoorsy.” I grew up without indoor plumbing at times. I can hunt and skin and process game. I can sleep on grass and wipe with leaves. I can run a trot line and grow anything.

My DH can do none of that…he is a city boy. It doesn’t matter at all because he has always been honest with me about who he is.

If you can’t rock climb, now is a good time to tell the truth. You could seriously injure someone else or get hurt yourself if you don’t actually have that skill. That is much more important than this relationship based on lies.
