There’s only one right answer, the rest is opinion.
Jefferson County WV is part of the DC MSA. The rest of the state is not in the dc area.

When was this coined? DC Native and did not ever hear until maybe 5-10 years ago. I am in my 40s.
I am from actual DC, so I didn't really even know the difference between MD and VA until I went to UVa.

DC TV networks have been available in parts of WV for 50+ years.
