My kids play basketball, but I don't begrudge a gym taking some basketball space for pickleball, yoga, pilates, etc. I want a healthy community and I like to see the old people out there enjoying themselves. (I guess the old people didn't like seeing kids playing basketball).

Old is not an insult. Old is just a fact. We only saw old people ever playing pickleball.
Your world view and information is pretty out of date. There are more than 100 college campuses with pickleball now. It’s increasingly popular with the “kids” in their 20s. It’s one of the few athletic activities that appeals to people age 8-80. Lifetime clearly has done their market research.
There are plenty of parks with basketball courts - send your kids there.

not indoors. and obviously playing on an indoor court is much better in every way. And they aren't reducing the membership fees to reflect the lack of basketball. In fact they are telling people if they want to keep the basic amenity of court space, they have to drive 30 minutes to go elsewhere AND pay a whole lot more. Hence the unhappy customers.

I certainly never receive any kind of email or request for feedback. Did you? I didn't know all the customers were supposed to just be sending in comments unasked on a plan no one knew about.

Onelife says they have basketball in Sterling and Brambleton. I know they have it in Tysons.

People went to play pickup games, there aren't other people to play outdoors. Also, weather? Also, many people have basketball as part of their gym routine, play basketball, lift weights, etc. Its a sport and exercise.

I don't know anything about pickleball (its like easy tennis I guess?) but tearing out a climbing wall and two full basketball courts seems really dumb when you could keep the space multi-use.
