I went to a small South Eastern college. My roommates were both from the area (I wasn't), and they planned on staying there. I was friendly with them, but couldn't wait to graduate and move across the country to California. I lost touch with them after graduation (before cell phones and social media).

Twenty years later, new neighbors are moving in down the street. While I'm driving by, their dog gets loose and runs down the street. I pull over to help, I grab the dog by the collar and walk him over to the new neighbor. Who happens to be my college roommate.

I arrived in Florence for a summer semester in 1995. After unpacking my things I went out to explore. Walking by my hotel was a couple who lived a block away from my parents. They were returning home that day, so I told them to let my parents know I’d arrived safely!

I worked with a woman in DC who saw a college aged kid on the Metro with a KU hat. She was going to be visiting her mother in Kansas and hadn’t been back in a while so asked this young man if he had any restaurant recommendations.

One thing led to another and it turned out this young man grew up in the same house as my coworker, and they had the exact same rooms.

I was backpacking in Eastern Europe during college with some "friends" who ditched me. I was in a smaller city, didn't know the language (no one spoke English there), had a train to catch and had no idea how to get back to the train station. I was standing in a park, feeling hopeless. I'm not religious but I silently just prayed to God or the Universe, please help me. I turned to my right and there was a perfectly good map of the city lying right on top of the trash can. I used it to find the train station and made it back to Paris.

We were visiting Mt. Vernon and the wheel to DD’s stroller popped off. A nice couple was walking by in the parking lot and said they actually had a tool that could help.

As the man fixed my stroller, my mom noticed their license plate was Michigan. She casually mentioned her sister lives in Michigan. Long story short, this couple was friends with her and had been in her house for dinner a few days earlier.

I was on vacation in Mass from DC. I have picture of my kids doing tie-dye and in the background (across the street) is my cousin who was also vacationing in Mass (from NJ).

This is pre-digital pictures and was only realized years later.

I dated a girl in college who dated a guy in HS who had the exact same name as me. First middle and last name. Not an extremely common name either.

My wife's youngest brother's wife and I share the same birthday, so both siblings married partners with the same birthday.
My sister and my late father-in-law share the same birthday.
My wife's birthday is the day after my mother's and my MIL's is one week after my wife's, so all three of them have birthdays within an 8 day period.
My other brother and my wife's older brother have birthdays 2 weeks apart.

This reminds me. My father was 93 when he passed. I called the daughter of Dad's best friend from college (in the 1940's) to let her know that "Dad" had passed and she said she was calling me to tell me that. It turns out her dad died about 12 hours after my dad did. Two men in their 90's, friends for over 75 years, died within 12 hours of each other.

This happened to me too. I had a dream I was standing in my aunt's kitchen and my grandmother gave me a hug and said she had to go now. I woke up to missed calls, she had died that night.

My kids threw birthdays are all palindromes. Think 8/18. It happened three times.

I was visiting a friend on the west coast. Her mother in law was also visiting and staying inthe house. That night I had a very vivid dream about a therapist I had in college 10 years earlier …. She lost her husband tragically and I often thought of her. The next day I was chatting with my sisters mother in law about their country club in Florida. She mentioned her neighbor was renovating her house. Then she mentioned the neighbors name and how her husband had died ten years earlier. That was my therapist. .

I grew up in LA. We sold our family sedan via a newspaper ad. A few years later our family goes on vacation in Mexico. I had a broken leg and was on crutches so we had to take a cab to a restaurant. After dinner we got another cab. On the way back to the hotel I realized that the cab was our old family car. We asked the driver and his brother had bought the car as a wedding gift for him.

I had been dating a boy for just over a year in high school when his mom redecorated their living room. This included a large painting of a Scottish castle that was decorated for a holiday celebration. I asked her about it because it looked familiar and I thought my family had visited it when I was in 4th grade. I told her how we had gone to see the castle but it was closed that day to get ready for a celebration so we could only see the grounds. My favorite part was playing on the old cannons with a boy my age. Her face froze and she went running for her family photo album. She found pictures of their family trip to the castle. Sure enough she had pictures of her son playing on the cannons with me!
