OP, I agree with the others about following your DD's lead while focusing more on how she feels, as opposed to the weight loss. You could ask if she needs new clothes, but let her decide.

That would be a 900-1000 calorie deficit on average without considering the body going into starvation mode or gaining muscle mass from increased exercise or changes in absorption and gut biome.
