Yes Emory is still considered elite in GA (and in the rest of the country).
Uga has only gotten better over last 30 years and now attracts even more oos kids.

Umm yes there is still a bit of a different vibe in the south.

Or as we say, American by birth, southern by the grace of god.

But Athens is a fun happening town and it’s very very cold in Madison!

Emory use to attract a lot of Jewish students from the Northeast US. I think that the percentage of Jewish students has decreased to about 17%.

Jewish & Asian students typically have high stats.

Recently, Emory's law school has dropped in the US News rankings & Univ. of Georgia School of law has risen well above Emory.

Emory is a great pre-med school, but competitive.

Lots of sophisticated students from the Atlanta Metro area. If the UGA Honors College was ranked separately as an LAC, it would probably be ranked among the top 2 or 3 LACs.

😂 😂 😂

LOL !

You don't get out much--do you ?

Why?

UGA doesn’t place as well as Madison for econ adjacent jobs in the boswash corridor — that’s why

Meh, even if that's true, the job growth in the sunbelt is exponential.

I wasn't expecting culture shock. But this thread has me wondering.

UW-M is much higher ranked in USNWR, Niche, etc and also sends many more graduates to Econ PhD programs which suggests a stronger department.

Cite? Percentage would be more important than the total.

Jesus, do your own damn googling, it's very easy.

This is OP (and not the pp). Aside from location/weather & Wisconsin edging out UGA for Econ (which isn’t certain for DS’s major), how else do these schools compare?

Clearly, you have not dealt with Southerners. Ain't no edging out. College years are precious.

What does this mean? I think on the balance sheet, a point goes to U Wisconsin for better ranked for Econ major. Even if you disagree, your post is incoherent.

Sorry for being unclear.

University of Georgia students are very sharp & sophisticated. I like U Wisconsin, but prefer U Georgia. Both are great schools.

What's the deal with southerners you mention?

Sorry, but I do not understand your question. Can you please rephrase it ? Thanks .

"Clearly, you have not dealt with Southerners"

You'll get your clocked cleaned without even realizing what happened.

what a language barrier

Fair comment.

Southerners are much sharper than non-Southerners understand.

Read that again. Does that make sense to anyone?

Athens is a great college town, but is now a bit crowded.
