There are comments here that are LOL. the Father’s last name needs to be James?!. Almost half of the top names it in “son”.
Who cares that two or three people think that “it makes you sound waspy like you have a family name to pass down when you do not” ?
Name your kid what you want. And that becomes your kids name that’s how we and when people here the name they’ll think of your kid not an alcoholic beverage.

OP, you will be the only one still calling him "Jameson". That's what moms do.
Names shorten with age, people tend to use the shorter-form, easiest version of their name because it's easier. He'll be Jim. Easier to say, easier to spell.
