Subject: U.S. dating pool: Nearly 50% of 18-49 year olds have tattoos
I don’t get tattoos. I don’t wear the same clothes or makeup every day, I change up my jewelry, I change the decor in my house—why would I want to look at the same body art day after day?

DP and I haven’t read the thread yet but this isn’t a ball gown and her appearance doesn’t look tasteful at all.
I guess that's the point. Taste is subjective. I think she looks absolutely beautiful. The PP said women like this don't "look right" in formal wear.
I'm not sure what "looking right" actually means. But I do know that this women absolutely does not look wrong here. And its not even sex appeal. She just looks gorgeous and striking. And some of that is due to the body art she has

I'm 47 years old and grew up in society in Boston, attending prep-boarding schools, became friends with all the famous old money New England names, have attended countless formal events, etc. I'm not bragging (in fact I usually try to hide that part of my life from most people), but more to explain that I'm no stranger to that world.

Aren’t we lucky that the thinking of old stuffy, repressed WASPs trickles down into plebeian societywho are not shielded by the same wealth, privilege and status—which merely reinforces the implicit class element. Tattoos thee but not for me!

Not really. Many singles have severe aversions to tattoos, often for religious purposes.
The people who are religious enough to be opposed to tattoos for "religious purposes" are not in the general dating pool. They are looking to marry people who are of the same faith and as religious as they are.

NP and absolutely agree. She looks beautiful. Also grew up in a monied, well educated, wasp-y family, and me and DH both work in very conservative industries.
I'd put a wager on that woman looking a lot more beautiful when she's 70 than a lot of the un-tattooed dcum relationship forum crowd.....
Also just side note.... tons of our friends who make $500k+ have tattoos these days. And a lot of the time, really big ones. This just isn't a big thing anymore.
