Fit Flops (any of the ones that have thicker soles and that mention microwobbleboard in the description)

OP, I have recurrent plantar fasciitis. Want to recommend aerothotics as a good and well priced line.

These are what my podiatrist recommended.

My doctor said to have flip flops with good support by my bed so my arch doesn't get pulled when I wake up.

Walking miles in flip flops bad, using them for short periods of time or when you are not walking a lot is fine, if it has good support.

Birkenstocks DO NOT HAVE GOOD SUPPORT.

And some, including some podiatrists would vehemently disagree with you. Perhaps the key is to chose shoes that support your particular feet well. For some of us, such shoes will include at least some Birkenstocks.

I love my Archies. So comfy. I wouldn’t wear them though for long walks or touring. More like wear around the house or running errands type of shoe.

Another vote for Vionic Tide- if budget tight,, try them on for size ( I have to size down) and then look all year on eBay and Poshmark. I put them on first thing in the morning in lieu of slippers and am never barefoot. I had plantar fasciitis for over a year that included cortisone shots. I wear Hokas, too. My brooks don’t have enough padding. I used to like Fitflops but I sort of turned my ankle a bit on their mild platform and after that the shoe felt loose and unstable.

Hi! I’m the PP who recommended Aetrex. Glad you liked them enough to try. I am seeing Fiji on sale for $36, just FYI. I’m accessing the site from Delaware right now.

Yep, I saw that too - it's just with tax and shipping it came up to $50. They were even more expensive on Amazon.

I have very very high arches and problematic feet (former dancer) and plantar fasciitis in my right foot, and the Gizeh Birks work well for me.

Aetrex is also amazing but generally I find them ugly. The Maui and Fiji flip flops seem fine:

I think I may be you! I literally had to check to ensure I didn't write the first sentence.
Thanks for the Aetrex heads up. Never heard of them.
What other shoes work for you?

Ha, that’s funny!

Vionic have been good as well. I wear a lot of running shoes which can also be problematic (so far, Reebok have been the best). In the winter, I use orthotic inserts.

This year, I decided to look for a pair of heels with arch support and will be trying on a pair of E’MAR shoes. Will report back. Sarah Flint also allegedly makes good ones.

I’ve tried oofos and they made my plantar fasciitis much worse. Many other brands do too (keens, chacos, clarks, etc.).

What about you?

Hi, foot buddy!
I don't have a lot of great suggestions for you; I wear Birk Gizehs all the time (I live in a warmer climate). I also have large feet that challenge as well.
I have some Aerosoles that are okay.

We really are foot twins. I’m on vacation this week and have brought two pairs of Gizehs (one casual and one “dressy” for going to dinner—lol) plus a pair of running shoes.

Will look at Aerosoles!

Sorry - I should have been more clear. I don't have high arches. I have flat feet.
