OP not sure when kids are up at 6 and go to sleep at 8 - I clean cook prep after they sleep and then work more and then …just sleep. I can’t go outside bc of wild animals like bears and the dark woods. I don’t have the money or space for a big workout item like treadmill (small 2 bedroom home). I don’t know any other exercise but walking running biking and not sure my yoga mat and some YouTube will make a difference…? I guess I should say I can’t just go to a gym or “take a walk” at lunch.
Um...your little house is literally right in the middle of the woods surrounded by bears? Are you Laura Ingalls Wilder?
OP I don’t know who that is but we moved to a plus acre property in upstate New York / CT so yes, bears are an almost nightly occurrence, no sidewalks, surrounded by forests (I meant what I said, our Ring camera catches them passing or trying to eat our trash…wild turkeys and bobcats too…and it’s pitch black when it gets dark).

Gets heart rate up which is key. Squats with weights held behind your head and up - heck can even use canned goods. 3 reps of 5, rest anther three reps of 5. Mentally 5 is less daunting than doing 10/15. You can easily increase if you start to feel motivated. And YES to doing push ups on the stairs! Again 3 reps of 5 and build from there
Good luck!
OP thank you for these tips trying some stair walking tonight and push-ups on my yoga mat, trying to get my body to “work” and not be lazy
If you're out of shape, the first three weeks are going to suck. Don't be discouraged. Things improve rapidly after that.
Most people feel a little brain dead in the early afternoon after lunch. It's a good time to go outside and get a walk in. Also, fewer bears

Lots of sautéed veggies and big salad as your first course for each meal. Follow it with protein with lots of herbs and spices.
1/2 hour before your lunch and dinner, mix 1/4 tsp of INULIN (not Insulin. Inulin is a tasteless, odorless fiber that is a prebiotic) in a glass of water and drink it.
Yoga is fine. I would say that you should walk 3000 steps immediately after each meal in your own house.
Drink a lot of lemon water throughout the day. It curbs appetite.

Anonymous wrote:Okay so this is my first post in this sub. I am 37 and have a toddler and kid in kindergarten. I don't drink, I don’t smoke, and I don’t really like treats (I do love bread and pasta). I feel like I ballooned I am back somehow in pregnancy clothes. I absolutely cannot exercise just cannot, not even walking. I live in the woods, I take care of kids, I work, and I have a small house. I am exhausted and I’m out of shape, I used to love walking in DC and miss it. Im trying to eat lots of veg and rare fruit, I skip breakfast and don’t eat after 6. I want to apply to a program and interview in person and I want to look good and feel good. Which means I have to lose weight somewhat fast. Is that even a thing? Do I just keep cutting calories or do I need to do weights in my house? Im at a loss because I feel like a teenager asking this I used to be happy with my body but now I wear ridiculous baggy clothes to not see myself. What else can I do?

+1 you live in the woods? Take hikes ffs.
Anonymous wrote:Is there a gym with childcare in your area? YMCA is the big one. Once your kindergartener is back at school, maybe you take the toddler to the Kidzone at the Y and work out.
Also be kind to yourself: It is really hard to work full time, have two little kids who need you 24-7, and shift from very urban lifestyle to very rural life. The bears in New England are no joke!
In the meantime, I would think about ways to make yourself feel better that don't necessarily involve weightloss, because I think the weightloss will come naturally when your life feels more in balance and like you have enough time for yourself.
I think you'd feel better if you bought a few new outfits--you deserve something newer and nicer than pregnancy wear that is probably 5 years out of style by now! Get a great new haircut. Find some time alone every day or a few times a week. Your partner needs to step it up and help you out.
