A well-timed compliment goes a long way, OP. Humans in general respond favorably to positive reinforcement.

Early on, you can say something simple like, "you look really nice in those jeans."

Once you're more established, you can say things like "those jeans make your butt look good."

But keep it sparing and subtle. Anything else would be too weird.

For me, I tend to do it for certain colors. If she wears blue or green, I'll tell her how nice she looks or that it complements her eyes, or whatever, for example. It doesn't mean I don't think she's unattractive if she wears other colors, but I'm also making it clear what *I* find attractive, which is useful her to her as my partner when she is so inclined as to be pleasing to me (which is not something I expect so much as I notice and appreciate and acknowledge when it happens). She also trusts my tastes well enough to know that if I say something, others likely see similar things.

Good sound advice here. How old are you?

You don’t have much experience with women, do you, OP?

I think people are reading too much into this. Just tell her she looks great and find a way to mention the jeans (I love the look, or especially the jeans, or whatever. Even you look great, I love a woman in jeans). If she’s paying attention and she likes you she will pull them out again soon and feel good about them. Its not like you’re demanding them.

I definitely wear heels more for my new guy because it’s so obvious he appreciates them. He’d get dumped in a flash if I thought he “expected” them but why wouldn’t I want to know what pleases him?

Are you sure you aren't 60? Never heard a 30yo say "blue jeans."

Is it something that’s fine to bring up to someone in earlier stages of dating or could someone think it’s odd?

Try to be an open communicator generally.

Slap her butt as a sign of approval

I guess I even have a bit of a thing for blue jeans. Don’t we all? They look good and are flattering.
