A well-timed compliment goes a long way, OP. Humans in general respond favorably to positive reinforcement.
Early on, you can say something simple like, "you look really nice in those jeans."
Once you're more established, you can say things like "those jeans make your butt look good."
But keep it sparing and subtle. Anything else would be too weird.
For me, I tend to do it for certain colors. If she wears blue or green, I'll tell her how nice she looks or that it complements her eyes, or whatever, for example. It doesn't mean I don't think she's unattractive if she wears other colors, but I'm also making it clear what *I* find attractive, which is useful her to her as my partner when she is so inclined as to be pleasing to me (which is not something I expect so much as I notice and appreciate and acknowledge when it happens). She also trusts my tastes well enough to know that if I say something, others likely see similar things.
