I was talking to a woman at work and she was telling me about how her boyfriend ran around with other men who like to see multiple women, etc. She seemed to think this was something sort of unavoidable somehow. I can’t imagine any of my husband’s friends openly admitting to cheating on a wife or girlfriend. It was like we were from two different planets.

I was married 20 years. I'm now in a committed relationship.

I've never cheated. Not once.

That's a big part of it. Good people surround themselves with good people. Cheaters routinely get cut off from their social groups and end up hanging with other people that feel cheating is ok

Cheating is about personality types, not gender

10% seems really, really high.

I mean, that means that between the two third grades at my kid’s elementary school, there are six kids who are being raised by a man who isn’t their biological father and has no idea.

I would be surprised if there was 1.

These estimates are all over the place. I've seen as high as 30%, but that was for people actively seeking to prove paternity, so there is selection bias there. Others are in the single digits.

Not even close to true. There is no reason to believe a single guy in my circle has ever cheated. And yes, the opportunities were there if they were looking. Now the women that are in my circle, or atleast used to be in my circle, that's a different story
