We covered ours with a quilted box spring cover from Garnet Hill, but you could use a fitted sheet instead.
We got this, but it doesn't look that fitted. Would be nice if there were some better options. I don't like the look of bedskirts, but have a box spring to increase the height of the bed.

Use an extra bottom sheet or a box spring cover to cover your box spring. Bonus is that they're so easy to wash when they get dusty.

I love a traditional, beautiful bedroom. Bedskirts are not out for traditional style homes and furnishings.

This is the style we have on all of our beds. I have a traditional (but not stuffy) decorating style. No ruffled, frilly bed skirts.

OP I think the answer is just to pick a bed based on the style you’re going for and that includes thinking about whether it will want a bedskirt or not.
I prefer not having one, simply for practicality. We have dogs and I like to be able to easily clean anything fabric basically. Plus it’s easier to stick the vacuum under there.

Box springs are unnecessary dust magnets. Bed skirts amplify the problem.
