You are of course free to waste your time and everyone else’s time commenting on something you haven’t read or seen, and apparently have no interest in. Maybe some straight women. Absolutely not this one.
I can have an opinion even if it is at odds with yours.

This made me laugh.
And I agree Uma Thurman’s attempt at an accent was very distracting— did not think she was under-used (altho wouldn’t have minded a powerpoint).
Haha SAME! That kid would’ve had an hpv shot already if he’s like 24
I can't tell if PPs are referencing the book in addition to the movie, but in the book she DOES do a powerpoint (it's a running gag in the book that she makes powerpoints for everything) and it's hilar
literally one of the slides is:

What is “all this”? books about enemies turned lovers? Books about falling in love with a prince? Books about gay people?
+1 ... does PP not like gay relationships portrayed as mainstream? Intercontinental relationships? Uma Thurman's questionable Texas accent?
Dunno. I'm gay and had never heard of this book till Amazon propped it up on Prime video. I'm sure it's the heavily hyped flavor of the week to be forgotten next week. Must admit being curious that straight people (meaning straight white women, I suppose) would want to read about a gay romance when I couldn't finish a page of a straight romance. From the trailers, the film is clearly marketed towards the young progressive white woman audience with an impeccably diverse casting and rom com cliches. I can see why those outside this demographic would find the story and its marketing contrived and forced.
This sums it up for me. I don’t have a hot guy in touch with his emotions and willing to be romantic at home. I get it from books and movies. Sometimes those fictional men are straight. Sometimes they’re queer.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Really tired of all this as if it’s mainstream but ok.

Some straight women like to see cute guys in love. With gay romance, they get 2 cute guys instead of 1.
